We are seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Warehouse Manager to lead and oversee our overnight warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational and people management skills who can drive efficiency, maintain quality standards, and ensure a safe, productive work environment.
Position Summary
The 3rd Shift Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of overnight warehouse operations, including inventory management, quality assurance, freight receiving, order fulfillment, routing coordination, and staff supervision. This position ensures operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with Cavalier Produce's mission to Listen, Act, and Deliver.
The successful candidate will foster a positive team environment through effective communication, accountability, collaboration, and leadership while driving cost savings through reduced inventory waste, credits, and overtime.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operations Management

Manage all aspects of 3rd shift warehouse operations and collaborate effectively with other members of the management team.

Route delivery trucks to meet customer delivery requirements while maximizing fuel efficiency and driver productivity.

Supervise order selection, picking, and loading activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Monitor product quality to ensure customers receive the highest-quality produce.

Oversee inbound freight receiving operations, ensuring products meet quality standards and count expectations.

Maintain accurate inventory through proper product rotation, labeling, inspection, and storage procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and control labor costs.
Team Leadership & Development

Supervise warehouse personnel and assign daily responsibilities and priorities.

Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
-
Coach, train, evaluate performance, and administer corrective action when necessary.

Collaborate with management in the supervision and support of delivery drivers and warehouse staff.

Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and commitment to company values.
Customer Service & Communication

Partner with the Distribution Manager and Inventory Manager/Purchasing Assistant to ensure exceptional customer service.

Stay informed of customer requirements and proactively address operational issues that could impact service.

Communicate regularly with management regarding warehouse performance, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

Ensure timely resolution of operational challenges affecting deliveries, product quality, or customer satisfaction.
Food Safety & Compliance
-
Partner with the Food Safety Manager to ensure warehouse facilities, coolers, and equipment are maintained according to company standards.

Ensure compliance with all company food safety, food security, and quality assurance policies.

Conduct routine inspections and support preventative maintenance efforts.

Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in accordance with company procedures.

Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA, HACCP, USDA, FDA, and company safety requirements.
Additional Responsibilities

Complete all required reports, documentation, and administrative tasks accurately and timely.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
-
2–3 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in a warehouse, distribution, or food service environment.
-
Minimum 2–3 years of food safety experience.
-
Management-level experience with HACCP, USDA, FDA, or related food safety programs preferred.
-
Produce industry experience strongly preferred.
-
Experience with ProducePro software is a plus.

Forklift operation experience required.

OSHA certification and/or ability to obtain required certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods, including up to four (4) hours at a time on hard surfaces.

Regular use of arms, wrists, and hands while operating equipment, handling products, and performing warehouse duties.

Ability to work routinely in refrigerated environments and cool storage areas.
-
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
-
Ability to bend, stretch, twist, reach overhead, and perform other physical movements necessary for warehouse operations.
Schedule Requirements

Full-time overnight schedule.

Regular weekend work required, including rotating Saturday and Sunday shifts.

Availability to work additional hours as needed to support operational requirements.
