Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure smooth and efficient shifts.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service and meet sales goals.
- Manage inventory control by conducting stock checks, ordering products, and maintaining accurate records using POS systems.
- Train new employees on store policies, product knowledge, POS transactions, and customer service excellence.
- Handle cash handling, cashiering duties, and reconcile daily sales to ensure financial accuracy.
- Implement merchandising strategies to promote products effectively and optimize store presentation.
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations and company policies related to cannabis sales and retail operations.
- Assist with marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store visibility and sales.
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new staff members.
- Maintain organizational efficiency through effective time management, communication skills, and team coordination.
Experience
- Proven supervisory or assistant management experience within retail environments, preferably in cannabis or similar sectors.
- Strong knowledge of retail math, sales management, inventory management, and store merchandising techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train, develop, and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills with multilingual or bilingual abilities considered a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks.
- Familiarity with retail sales strategies including pricing, marketing, and promotional planning.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Knowledge of legal compliance requirements specific to cannabis retail is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
