Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare administration team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and insurance claim procedures. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and optimizing revenue cycle management. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of our medical office and enhance patient satisfaction through efficient billing practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10, and ICD coding systems to ensure proper reimbursement.
- Review medical records and documentation to verify billing accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims through effective collection strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure correct diagnosis and procedure coding, including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) assignments for inpatient services.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to input data, track claims status, and update patient information efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding guidelines, and industry regulations to ensure compliance.
- Resolve billing discrepancies promptly while maintaining detailed records of all transactions for audit purposes.
Skills
- Extensive experience in medical billing with proficiency in DRG, CPT coding, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation requirements.
- Proven ability to navigate EMR and EHR systems effectively within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent knowledge of medical collection procedures and insurance claim processing workflows.
- Ability to interpret complex medical data accurately and translate it into precise billing codes.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients regarding billing inquiries.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
