Experience/Education/Skillsets Needed:
- Multiple years of fabrication experience and training
Job Requirements include:
- Work safely and follow all HWMI and OSHA safety requirements
- Efficient in heavy GMAW MIG welding
- Additional proficiency beneficial - FCAW, GTAW or SMAW in Carbon, Stainless and Aluminum
- Ensure proper weld procedures, assembly procedures, and final products are completed correctly
- Must have ability to understand various fabrication techniques and what process is needed to complete projects in the most efficient manner
- Read Engineering Drawings and Prints and produce sketches of simple parts for engineers to duplicate
- Able to use all fabrication tools – plasma and cutting torch, grinders, tape measure and layout tools (levels, combination square, scribes, plumb bob, wrap-o-round, centering head, sheet metal gauge, etc.)
- Drive a fork truck
- Work with machinists, sheet metal, and project managers to complete projects on-time and per quality standards and specifications
- Understand what it takes to keep shop clean and efficient – understand how to keep work area clean and organized
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and maneuver up to 100 lbs. without physical restrictions
- This is a 40 hour per week job with occasional mandatory overtime
- Exposure to heat and cold depending on weather conditions
Other Desirable (Not necessary) Skills include:
- Beneficial if able to lead fabrication on large fabrications and assemblies
- Equipment repair experience – ability to do heavy equipment repair
- Valid Driver’s License to Drive Company Vehicles to On-site jobs
- Ability to train and mentor welders/apprentice fabricators and train them in multiple disciplines of fabrication
- Efficient welding skills in:
- Brazing / Silver Soldering
- Work on jobsites – installation and repair of equipment / On-site fabrication and welding
