Duties
- Contact customers via phone using professional phone etiquette to follow up on unpaid accounts and resolve billing discrepancies
- Analyze accounts receivable data to identify overdue payments and develop effective negotiation strategies for collection efforts
- Review billing details, and account analysis to ensure accuracy before initiating collection procedures
- Reconcile accounts by verifying debits & credits, performing account reconciliation, and updating financial software systems accordingly
- Communicate complex billing information clearly to customers to facilitate payment resolution
- Maintain detailed records of all collection activities, correspondence, and account status updates in compliance with privacy regulations
Experience
- Proven experience in collections or accounts receivable is preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, account reconciliation, and revenue cycle management
- Familiarity with billing processes
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting software used for account analysis and reconciliation
- Excellent phone etiquette combined with customer service skills to handle sensitive conversations professionally
- Ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining positive relationships with customers
- Basic math skills necessary for accurate account analysis and data entry
