Lead Cardiology Scheduling Coordinator

Position Summary:
To provide patient appointment scheduling, reception, clerical and customer service functions to all patients, visitors, and employees. These functions include: scheduling appointments, patient reception, appointment check-in, insurance verification and other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday. Varying 8-hour shift based of coverage needs. 6:30AM to 5:00PM.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Five years office clerical experience, including a minimum of three years in a medical office setting.
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in a personable and professional manner
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
Strong computer skills; prefer experience with electronic medical record.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a fast-paced healthcare setting with patients, families and healthcare personnel
Ability to organize and prioritize work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of a formal training program in medical reception, an equivalent program, or a customer service program preferred.
Experience in a healthcare setting and EPIC
Competency in medical terminology and health care business environment is preferred
