The Associate Dean of Students Affairs role is responsible for assisting in the leadership necessary to fulfill the mission, objectives, plans, and goals of the college and all education and training areas by planning, organizing, directing, staffing, coordinating, motivating, supervising, and evaluating all facets of the school’s education department focusing on students’ experience at the University and their success.
Qualifications:
-
Master’s Degree required, preferably in Higher Education or a closely related field, from institutions accredited by regional or national accrediting bodies approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Official transcripts required.

One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a higher education setting.

Demonstrate knowledge of academic and vocational/technical program administration in community and/or vocational college settings.

Hold a positive attitude, self-confidence, and a strong work ethic.
-
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
-
Effective verbal/written communication skills, presentation skills, and listening skills.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet, and with virtual collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom, or equivalent).
Core Supervisory: Direct supervision of Student Services Coordinators
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed the college's monthly and annual retention goals by providing student services, offering supportive time for students (including office hours), facilitating professor communication with students, etc.

Provide accurate weekly and monthly attrition forecasts.
-
Meet or exceed weekly and monthly students’ engagement and failure rates.
-
Assist students in understanding their class schedule for all programs and courses, including the road map to graduation.

Assist in conducting new student orientations and partner with admissions to conduct onboarding sessions for all new students, including technology support for the student portal, Canvas, and Office 365.

Maintain a productive schedule to contact at-risk students daily and promote student engagement in class.

Advise on and manage students’ certification exams, as applicable, to ensure students meet the University certification rate standards, including sit, pass, and certification rates.

Assess all student engagement and retention results using the Northbridge University retention model in order to create programs and events that contribute to students’ persistence and address their social, academic, environmental, and emotional needs.

Plan, schedule and execute student services events and activities to meet accreditation criteria.

Advise students on all matters, including but not limited to midterm advising, failure advising, and students’ absence advising.

Hire, train, and retain student services staff.

Ensure student satisfaction with the student experience by partnering with the Senior Dean of Online Operations through classroom observations and student surveys.

Ensure 100% student activation by the end of the first week of each term.

Academic oversight of the Interdisciplinary Studies Associate Program, to include supervisory and program management duties.

Assess students’ degree audits to ensure accurate student records in Campus Vue, including students’ graduation dates, last dates of attendance, and correct phone and email addresses.
