The Town of Peru is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to serve as Secretary to the Select Board. This is a part-time position of up to 20 hours per week supporting the operations and administrative functions of the Select Board.
Position Summary
The Select Board Secretary provides clerical and administrative support, including preparing meeting materials, recording minutes, and assisting with general office tasks. This role is an important part of maintaining transparent and effective town governance.
Schedule Up to 20 hours per week
- Two Monday evenings per month required for Select Board meetings
- Additional daytime hours are flexible based on workload
Key Responsibilities
· Attend Select Board meetings and record accurate minutes
Prepare agendas, meeting packets, and supporting documents
Maintain records, files, and official documents
Assist with posting meeting notices and compliance with FOAA requirements
Provide general clerical and administrative support to the Town Office
Qualifications
Prior experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with clerical or administrative tasks
Familiarity with municipal office operations preferred
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
Compensation
- Hourly rate based on experience
