Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. We operate an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program). We are a curriculum based group therapy program clients attend 3 days a week for 3 hours per session. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will help individuals navigate emotional challenges, manage mental health conditions, and achieve their personal wellness goals. Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately identify patient needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and evidence-based practices.
- Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using techniques like motivational interviewing, behavior management, grief counseling, and art or dance therapy when appropriate.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to ensure patient safety and stabilization.
- Document all clinical encounters meticulously in Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems following clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in ongoing research and professional development to stay current with clinical ethical guidelines, ICD coding updates, and advancements in behavioral health treatment approaches.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults with mental health disorders such as PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, co-occurring disorders, or developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and medical terminology related to mental health care.
- Prior experience utilizing telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Familiarity with clinical research methodologies and data collection processes relevant to behavioral health outcomes.
- Knowledge of inpatient settings or clinic environments is preferred; experience working with individuals with disabilities or in pediatrics is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation requirements.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and treatment planning aligned with clinical ethical guidelines and best practices in mental health counseling.
