What You'll Do
Lead & Develop Your Team
- Recruit, train, coach, and support Community Coordinators, Direct Care Staff, and Floaters
- Foster a positive, accountable, and person-centered team culture
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, professional development, and supervision
Drive Community Inclusion
- Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, volunteer organizations, and community groups
- Support individuals in developing skills, relationships, and meaningful community connections
- Promote opportunities that encourage independence, informed choice, and self-advocacy
Ensure High-Quality Services
- Monitor programs to ensure services are safe, inclusive, and aligned with individual goals
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards
- Support continuous improvement efforts and best practices
Coordinate Daily Operations
- Oversee participant transportation and ensure safe, reliable travel experiences
- Collaborate with families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Assist with scheduling, staffing coverage, and operational needs as they arise
Manage Resources
- Oversee participant funds and activity budgets
- Ensure accurate financial documentation and responsible use of resources
Provide Direct Support When Needed
- Step in to transport participants, provide staffing coverage, or assist during emergencies
- Support staff and participants through unexpected or challenging situations
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred
- Previous supervisory, leadership, or team management experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to developmental disability services
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination or obtain physician clearance for transportation duties
Work Environment
This role combines office, program site, and community-based work environments.
You may regularly work in:
- Community organizations and volunteer sites
- Recreational facilities
- Retail and business locations
- Animal shelters and nonprofit organizations
- Other community settings that support participant engagement
Expect:
- Moderate noise levels
- Frequent movement between locations
- Exposure to varying weather conditions during community activities
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Walk, stand, bend, and move frequently throughout the day
- Assist individuals with mobility, hygiene, and behavioral support needs
- Lift, transfer, or support up to 100 pounds with assistance when necessary
- Use a computer and other technology for documentation, scheduling, and communication
- Safely operate agency vehicles and transport participants
