Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations. This pivotal role involves managing food preparation, ensuring exceptional food quality, maintaining safety standards, and fostering a positive team environment. Duties
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality standards are met consistently
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste using systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Train and develop kitchen staff on food handling, safety procedures, and culinary techniques to promote a skilled and motivated team
- Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing needs, and ensure smooth workflow during busy hours in a quick service or fast food restaurant environment
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards to guarantee a safe dining environment for guests and staff
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha or Micros and oversee cash handling procedures
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, cost control, and menu development to optimize profitability while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service management within a quick service, casual dining, or fine dining setting with supervising responsibilities
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation
- Strong leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, and interviewing potential team members
- Familiarity with Toast POS system
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and inventory control procedures
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality management is a plus; certifications in food safety are highly desirable
