The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Preventive Medicine is seeking a tenure track full-time Assistant Professor in Biostatistics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a diverse research portfolio with a mixture of collaborative and independent methodological research. All areas of biostatistics are of interest; we are especially interested in candidates with a demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, high-dimensional data, and causal inference. We are looking for an individual with the ability to think critically and with a body of creative work applying statistical principles and computational techniques to biomedical science.
Methodological research that results in peer-reviewed publications; Collaborative research, including assistance with grant applications and data analysis on funded grants; teaching of 1-2 graduate courses per year and supervision of graduate students; and internal consulting in our Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) unit.
