Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management of the job site, ensuring each project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You'll be the on-site leader coordinating subcontractors, inspections, and deliveries while serving as the primary point of contact in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site construction activities from start to completion
- Schedule, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors and trade crews
- Manage project timelines and adjust schedules to keep work on track
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor quality, progress, and safety compliance
- Coordinate and schedule inspections with local jurisdictions
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Maintain accurate daily logs, photos, and progress reports
- Manage material deliveries and on-site inventory to prevent delays
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards on the job site
- Identify and resolve field issues quickly, escalating to project management as needed
- Communicate regularly with ownership, project managers, vendors, and clients
- Conduct quality-control checks and punch-list walkthroughs prior to closeout
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar field-supervisory role
- Proven experience managing residential and/or multi-unit construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and construction documents
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards
- Excellent scheduling, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage subcontractors
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with custom or luxury residential builds
- Familiarity with Detroit permitting and inspection process
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Proficiency with construction management or scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, Monday)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk active job sites on uneven terrain throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying Arizona weather conditions
- Ability to climb ladders and access all areas of a construction site
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
