About the Role: The Historic Empress Theatre and Marquee Club are becoming one of the Bay Area’s most active live entertainment destinations, with live music, comedy, dining, film, community arts, VIP lounge events, and special performances happening throughout the week.
We are looking for a part-time Audience Development & Ticket Sales Specialist who can help turn promotion into measurable attendance. This is not just a social media posting role. The goal is to sell more tickets, grow new audiences, and bring more people into downtown Vallejo.
This position begins with a 30-day paid trial period. During that time, we will evaluate real results, including ticket sales, audience growth, content quality, community outreach, list building, and campaign follow-through.
What You’ll Do
- Promote upcoming Empress Theatre and Marquee Club events through local outreach, social media, short-form video, email support, community groups, local businesses, and trackable ticket links
- Create and help manage simple promotional campaigns for weekly shows, weekend events, VIP lounge nights, comedy, jazz, blues, R&B, brunch, film, and special performances
- Attend select events to capture short-form content for future promotion, including audience energy, venue atmosphere, artist moments, dining, drinks, and the overall Empress/Marquee experience
- Build relationships with local businesses, arts groups, music fans, community organizations, influencers, and neighborhood partners
- Track results using promo codes, affiliate links, campaign reports, and weekly sales goals
- Identify which promotions are working and which are not, so the venue can focus on real ticket movement instead of wasted marketing activity
What We’re Looking For
- Experience promoting live events, nightlife, restaurants, arts organizations, music, comedy, or local businesses
- Strong social media instincts, especially with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, reels, stories, and short-form video
- Comfortable being out in the community and talking to people
- Connected to Vallejo, Solano County, Napa, Benicia, Fairfield, Richmond, Oakland, or the greater Bay Area arts and music scene
- Reliable, self-motivated, upbeat, and results-oriented
- Able to work independently and report clearly on what was done and what results came from it
Compensation This is a part-time paid role with a performance-based structure. Compensation may include:
- Hourly base pay for approved work
- Tracked ticket-sales bonuses
- Sell-out or attendance milestone bonuses
- Campaign performance bonuses
- VIP access to select Empress Theatre and Marquee Club events
Final compensation will depend on experience and agreed schedule. This role is evaluated on measurable audience growth and ticket sales, not simply hours spent posting online.
30-Day Trial Goals
During the first 30 days, we will evaluate:
- Number of tickets sold through trackable links or codes
- Quality and consistency of promotional activity
- Useful content captured at events
- New partnerships or outreach contacts developed
- Growth of local audience interest
- Reliability and follow-through
- Ability to create measurable sales, not just social media activity
