Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders, individualized care plans, and federal and state regulations. The RN supervises nursing staff, ensures high-quality resident care, and promotes a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered.
Monitor resident conditions and promptly communicate changes to physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
Supervise, coach, and support LPNs, CNAs, and other care staff.
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation.
Participate in care conferences and collaborate with residents and families.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for team members.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education.
Qualifications
Current North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
Long-term care, rehabilitation, or assisted living experience preferred but not required.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to respond quickly during emergencies.
