About the Role
Lake Holdings is seeking a Litigation Associate – NC to join our legal team and work directly with our Chief Legal Officer. This fully remote position is an excellent opportunity for a North Carolina-licensed attorney who is eager to gain meaningful courtroom, deposition, and case strategy experience while continuing to build a strong foundation in corporate litigation.
The ideal candidate is confident, motivated, and ready to take an active role in litigation matters from the outset.
Required Qualification
An active North Carolina Bar license is required. Candidates who are not currently licensed to practice law in North Carolina will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Serve as attorney of record in active litigation matters
- Attend court hearings and conduct depositions
- Work closely with the Chief Legal Officer to develop case strategy
- Assist with both defending claims and proactively pursuing litigation
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
- Communicate with opposing counsel, witnesses, vendors, and other parties
- Manage assigned matters independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail
- Travel within North Carolina and occasionally outside the state for hearings, depositions, and other litigation-related matters
Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina
- Two to five years of litigation experience preferred
- Strong interest in developing trial, deposition, and courtroom skills
- Experience in insurance defense, automobile claims, personal injury litigation, or another high-volume litigation environment is preferred
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced, and highly accountable environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence representing the company in hearings, depositions, and negotiations
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active matters

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
