Roo Mountain Vineyards is seeking an experienced, hands-on Catering & Food Truck Manager to lead one of the most exciting and diverse culinary positions in North Georgia hospitality.
Located in the beautiful North Georgia mountains, Roo Mountain Vineyards is home to an award-winning winery, The Roost Bistro, our gourmet food truck The Coop, and a growing calendar of weddings, private events, wine dinners, festivals, and culinary experiences.
This is not simply a management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys being in the kitchen, leading by example, preparing outstanding food, mentoring staff, and ensuring every guest receives an exceptional culinary experience.

Position Summary
The Catering & Food Truck Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of:
- The Coop Gourmet Food Truck
- Roo's Catering & Private Events
- The Tasting Room Bar Food & Charcuterie Program
Working closely with the Executive Chef and Director of Operations, this position combines culinary leadership, event management, inventory control, staff supervision, and guest service into one dynamic role.
This individual will spend a significant amount of time preparing food, cooking, supervising production, and ensuring consistency and quality while also managing employees and operations.
Culinary Responsibilities
This position requires substantial culinary experience and the ability to prepare food at a professional level.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing food for catering events, weddings, and winery experiences.
- Cooking and assembling menu items for The Coop food truck.
- Producing Roo's signature charcuterie boards and tasting room menu items.
- Maintaining exceptional food presentation and consistency.
- Preparing sauces, proteins, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and seasonal specials.
- Following standardized recipes while maintaining flexibility for special events.
- Ensuring food is properly labeled, stored, rotated, and handled according to health department regulations.
- Working side-by-side with the Executive Chef and kitchen team during busy services and special events.
- Assisting with menu development and seasonal offerings.
- Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking just as much as managing.
Catering & Events
The Catering & Food Truck Manager will oversee all catering operations for Roo Mountain Vineyards.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing catering for weddings, corporate events, wine dinners, and private functions.
- Coordinating with clients, the Director of Operations, and the Executive Chef.
- Managing event timelines and food preparation.
- Supervising catering staff during events.
- Ensuring every catered event reflects Roo's commitment to exceptional hospitality.
- Assisting with setup, food service, buffet presentation, and breakdown.
Food Truck Operations
The Coop is one of Roo's signature guest experiences, and this position is responsible for maintaining its high standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily operations of the food truck.
- Preparing and cooking food when necessary.
- Scheduling and supervising food truck employees.
- Ordering food and supplies.
- Managing inventory and food costs.
- Ensuring all food is prepped before service.
- Maintaining food quality and presentation.
- Keeping the truck clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
- Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials.
- Filling in as the primary food truck operator when staffing requires.
Charcuterie & Tasting Room Food
This role oversees Roo's growing charcuterie and small plates program.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing beautiful charcuterie boards.
- Maintaining inventory of cheeses, meats, accompaniments, and garnishes.
- Ordering ingredients.
- Developing seasonal offerings.
- Ensuring all tasting room food is consistently fresh, attractive, and delicious.
Leadership Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Supervise catering and food truck staff.
- Train employees on food quality, presentation, sanitation, and hospitality.
- Create staff schedules.
- Lead by example with professionalism and positivity.
- Maintain food cost goals and inventory systems.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and restaurant staff.
- Build systems that improve efficiency and organization.
- Foster a supportive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong culinary skills and professional cooking experience.
- Experience in catering, restaurant kitchens, or food truck operations.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Experience preparing food in high-volume environments.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Experience ordering food and managing inventory.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent customer service and hospitality abilities.
- The ability to multitask while maintaining exceptional food quality.
- A positive attitude and willingness to lead by example.
Preferred Qualifications
- Executive Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Catering Manager, or similar leadership experience.
- Fine dining or upscale casual restaurant experience.
- Event catering experience.
- ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
Schedule
- Full-time salaried position
- Average of 40+ hours per week
- Typical schedule is Wednesday through Sunday
- Evenings, weekends, and holidays required as business demands
