Higginsville Habilitation Center (HHC) is a state-operated program within the Department of Mental Health. We support 40+ individuals with developmental disabilities, receiving 24/7 services in a group home setting. We are recruiting for a Food Service Worker position to be a part of our Dietary Department located in Higginsville.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position will be accountable for preparing simple menu items. Will follow specific dietary needs, standard kitchen procedures and sanitation guidelines when handling, preparing and serving food.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Serve foods according to menu. Correct portion control and consistency of diet should be followed at all times.
- Be able to operate equipment safely (dish washing machine, food processor, oven/stove. toaster, slicer, grinder and steam table).
- Attend work according to facility policies in order to ensure staff coverage.
- Successfully completes initial and continuing competency training in order that the facility can meet accreditation standards.
- Responds to and participates in CPR and the training of CPR when needed.
- Assists in the preparation of meals by measuring ingredients, mixing, boiling, frying and monitoring cooking temperatures.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Qualifications:
0-1 year of work experience.
- Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
Schedule:
7:30 am - 4:00pm, working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday with Saturdays and Sundays as days off.
Salary:
$39,035.52 Yearly/$1,626.48 Per Pay Period
