Operations Manager

ABOUT ONE LOVE TENNIS
One Love Tennis is a Wilmington, NC-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through the sport of tennis combined with academic enrichment, mentorship, and character development. Operating out of the historic home of Dr. Hubert Eaton at 1406 Orange Street, One Love serves underrepresented young people in the greater Wilmington community with a vision of creating lifelong athletes, scholars, and leaders.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Operations Manager for One Love Tennis will ensure that the administrative functions run smoothly, that the historic home at 1406 Orange Street is well-maintained and serves as a living museum, and that building blocks are put in place to develop meaningful, evidence-based programming to support the academic and personal growth of the youth served by One Love Tennis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in nonprofits, program coordination, or education
- Experience developing / managing youth academic enrichment programming preferred
- Comfort with basic bookkeeping and financial administration
- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools
- Self-starter who can manage competing priorities in a flexible work environment
- Deep commitment to equity, youth empowerment, and community-driven work
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility & Property Stewardship
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the One Love Tennis home at 1406 Orange Street
- Coordinate and manage vendors, contractors, and service providers for routine and capital maintenance needs
- Ensure the property is safe, clean, and welcoming
- Maintain an inventory of equipment, supplies, and facility assets
- Preserve the historic legacy of Dr Hubert Eaton, Lenny Simpson and others that helped to break the color barrier in tennis
Administration & Operations
- Manage organizational bookkeeping (in conjunction with CPS) and supporting annual audit / 990 preparation
- Oversee marketing and communications functions — including social media, email newsletters, website updates, and community outreach materials
- Maintain donor and constituent records; support grant reporting and compliance
- Coordinate logistics and communications for programs, events, and board activities
- Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for families, partners, and community
Youth Curriculum & Engagement Development
- Research, design, and develop a structured curriculum for youth academic enrichment, tutoring, and mentoring programming
- Collaborate with the Director of Tennis to integrate life-skills and academic components into tennis programming
- Build relationships with local schools, tutoring organizations, and educational nonprofits to expand the reach and quality of youth support services
- Track and document program outcomes and youth development metrics to support reporting and strategic planning
