Job Summary
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) analyst utilizes existing systems to perform IAM functions and provides IAM-related support to business end users. This individual also participates in enhancements to the IAM program, including various new implementation projects. The IAM analyst works closely with IT teams, human capital and business units to ensure processes adhere to defined standards while satisfying business requirements. IAM has the responsibility of processing user account creation and access requests, ensuring integrityand accuracy of identity data and ensuring account access is removed when individuals leave TriWest Healthcare Alliance. The IAM will also be responsible for communication, escalation and timely resolution of any access and permission discrepancies identified through periodic monitoring and auditing activities.
Education & Experience
Required:
• High School Degree or GED • One year general technical support experience
- Experience handling systems account administration or systems access controls in a corporate or government environment.
- Experience using personal computers and all Microsoft programs including Excel and Word required
- Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively both orally and in writing with various levels of positions within an organization, from senior to entry level.
Preferred:
- 2+ years experience handling systems account administration or systems access control in a corporate or government environment.
- Thorough knowledge and demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Active Directory.
- Extensive experience using personal computers and all Microsoft programs including Excel and Word required
- Knowledge of VA, NIST, health care systems and additional related guidelines and frameworks as applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Auditing of the activations and deactivations of account access to TriWest, and Business Partner systems. Communicates with staff throughout TriWest to ensure proper systems access is provided and in compliance with HIPAA and TriWest policy. Establishes and performs recurring processes supporting systems access to ensure the security of TriWest data and the adherence to TriWest policy by employees, contractors and business partners.
- Performs additional recurring tasks as assigned in support of TriWest, VA and NIST security requirements.
- Works closely with TriWest Information Technology Staff and other members of the TriWest Information Security (IS) team.
- Process systems access request forms, communicate with applicants about errors and omissions and ensure valid approval signatures are obtained.
• Ensure requested access by TriWest employees and external users align with IS Security policy, VA and NIST guidelines based on valid business needs. External users include, but are not limited to business partners, contractors, and government personnel. • Maintain records of all systems access in accordance with TriWest policy, VA and NIST guidelines.
- Support the IS Security Team as requested to meet and maintain VA and NIST security requirements and TriWest contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with TriWest's IT Service Desk to resolve issues with systems access encountered by users.
- Develop and generate recurring auditing and validation reports of all system accounts maintained. Prepare and communicate to TriWest leadership a listing of those with access to systems within their organization to allow for ongoing validation.
- Contact appropriate business leadership regarding employees who transfer within the organization to confirm system access needs and to request new paperwork to substantiate system access.
- Maintain cross organizational relationships with TriWest workforce and external users to ensure the effective communication of system access requirements and any issues that may have an impact on system access.
- Work closely with the Triwest Training Department to adjust account permissions to facilitate production system access for staff that have completed the requisite training courses.
• Work under tight deadlines to ensure account creation process is completed prior to the start of new hire training classes. •
Maintain and update an extensive and auditable electronic records and hard copy filing system to support the processing and monitoring of all system credentials.
