About the Role
Are you a multi-talented educator who loves hands-on learning, creative arts, and practical life skills? Do you have a passion for inspiring young minds across a variety of engaging subjects? We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, and versatile instructors to lead four of our premier after-school enrichment programs for elementary students: Champion Chefs, Money Matters, Clay Creations, and Hola Amigos: Spanish.
Ideally, we are looking for adaptable individuals who can step into these distinct worlds—inspiring young chefs, future financiers, budding artists, and language learners—while providing a meaningful, fun, and safe after-school experience!
About Our Programs
Champion Chefs
- Introduce students to culinary basics, safety, food preparation, and delicious, hands-on recipes.
- Teach team building, measurement, and healthy habits through interactive, edible projects.
Money Matters
- Guide students through essential financial literacy, money management, saving, and smart spending.
- Build confidence and real-world financial skills through fun games and practical budgeting challenges.
Clay Creations
- Inspire young artists to explore 3D art, sculpting techniques, and creative expression using clay.
- Help students develop fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and artistic confidence in a relaxing environment.
Hola Amigos: Spanish
- Introduce basic Spanish vocabulary, conversational phrases, and cultural traditions.
- Use immersive games, songs, and interactive activities to make language learning accessible and exciting.
Qualifications and Skills
- The Personality: A fun, high-energy, and engaging individual who can motivate and build trust with elementary-aged students after the school day ends.
- The Background: Experience in elementary education, culinary arts, financial literacy, visual arts, or foreign language instruction (native/fluent Spanish required for Hola Amigos).
- The Mindset: A passion for encouraging creativity, practical skills, and teamwork while maintaining a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
- The Soft Skills: Patience, empathy, adaptability, and top-notch communication skills with both kids and parents.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of college education.
- At least 1 year of experience working with elementary-aged children.
- Ability to confidently manage a classroom of up to 20 students.
- Must be able to pass background checks and a TB test.
- Reliable transportation to commute daily to the Rosemead Recreation Center.
- Ability to lift and carry classroom supplies (approximately 20–50 lbs. occasionally).
Compensation & Availability
- Rate: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
- Pay is comprehensive: instructors are paid for 3 hours of time for each 60-minute class taught, which includes setup, lesson prep, instruction, cleanup, and parent communication/dismissal duties.

- Mondays: Champion Chefs | 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- Tuesdays: Money Matters | 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- Wednesdays: Clay Creations | 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
- Thursdays: Hola Amigos: Spanish | 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
