What You'll Be Doing:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspection of in-process products, measurement of quality systems, and reporting of quality data. They must evaluate and report defects found to supervision, and log those defects through an electronic reporting system. They are expected to perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections in an efficient and effective manner.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete quality inspections in accordance with work instructions in a timely manner.

Read and interpret customer drawings, parts lists, and specifications.

Record, analyze and report on the outcomes of quality inspections.

Assist in the completion of internal quality audits to ensure compliance with the company’s quality policy and procedures and any corrective actions.

Interpret and verify correct documentation including data of a technical and proprietary nature.

Utilize tools such as but not limited to: calipers, height gage, micrometers, microscopes, rulers, gages and ultraviolet inspection equipment.

Interpret x-ray inspection images of BGAs and other similar components.

Operate and interpret SPI (solder paste inspection), Pre and Post AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment images and documentation.

Programming of SPI, pre and post AOI equipment.

Comply with and enforce industry standards of electrostatic discharge prevention.

Comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures to ensure quality standards are maintained.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or delegate.
High school diploma or GED required.
Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- Prior experience in quality inspection and/or electronics manufacturing quality preferred.

Certification of IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred. Must be obtained after hire.

Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems preferred.

J-STD Soldering Certification preferred. Must obtain upon hire.

Experience with schematics and blueprints.

Strong attention to detail.

Basic computer literacy.
Employees are required to wear safety equipment consisting of: closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, heel straps, wrist straps, and electro-static discharge lab coats while on the production floor and are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and minimal risk of electrical shock.
