Description
Teacher’s Assistants are a part of the program planning and implementation of said programs in cooperation with the Lead Teacher. Teacher Assistants assist in planning of weekly themes, lesson plans and daily activities. Maintain a safe, healthy environment for children at all times. Actively engage in daily activities and routines with children. Ensure compliance with all Kentucky rules and regulations.

Responsibilities/Activities
-
Assists in adherence to program regulations, standards, best practices, and program implementation.

Assists in the develops daily classroom schedule.
-
Tracks food/meal related activities on activity form.
-
Ensures the classroom is clean and organized at all times.
-
Ensures toys and other materials utilized by children are cleaned and sanitized daily.
-
Follows infection control policies and procedures including but not limited to handwashing, cleaning procedures, etc.
-
Assists in management of child attendance and ensures appropriate and timely documentation of attendance for billing purposes.

Assists in implementation of the daily classroom schedule.
-
Works with Lead Teacher to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local rules and regulations.

Reports illnesses and incidents to director and/or assistant director in a timely manner.

Is fluent in the Bright Wheel application and ensures full utilization of application functions and features as it relates to his/her job.

Forms and maintains a professional relationship with parents and families.

Engages with parents and other family members consistently and respectfully.

Provides parents and other key stakeholders with daily reports of their child’s activities and other information.

Contributes to the implementation of an age-appropriate educational curriculum.

Promotes a safe and healthy environment by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.

Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and maintains necessary certifications.

Assists in conducting regular safety drills and training with children.
-
Fosters positive relationships with parents and guardians through open communication and regular updates.

Organizes and participates in parent conferences and family engagement events.

Assists in maintaining quality standards set by relevant federal, state and local agencies.

Seek opportunities for professional development, stays current with early childhood education trends and ensure regulatorily required .

Ensures cleanliness and organization of the classroom.

Floats and substitutes in all classrooms for absences, breaks and support as needed.

Works with all age groups.

Qualifications/Education/Training

Teacher’s Assistants have at a minimum, one year of verifiable paid experience working directly with children.

State required background checks and finger printing.
