Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and food prep tools
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas that meet nutritional standards and customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas following strict food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food with care to prevent cross-contamination and adhere to all food handling safety standards
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, serving schedules, and special dietary needs
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining high standards of presentation and taste
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or institutional settings
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and operating commercial kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, slicing techniques, knife skills, and meal assembly
- Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices for sanitation, cleaning routines, and food handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and service teams
