Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and construction machinery to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Perform detailed diagnostics on electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, and other mechanical components using schematics and specialized tools.
- Carry out repairs and replacements on components such as belts, filters, hoses, brakes, suspensions, and transmissions to maintain optimal equipment functionality.
- Utilize fabrication skills for custom parts or modifications when necessary to improve equipment performance or address specific operational needs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports for all service activities performed on various machinery.
- Assist in troubleshooting complex equipment problems by analyzing symptoms and applying industry best practices for repair solutions.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during maintenance procedures to simulate real-world conditions when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or service technician with a strong background in construction machinery maintenance.
- Dealership experience or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) familiarity is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and schematics reading.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools for repairs and assembly tasks.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, diesel engine diagnostics, air brake systems, tire service, brake repair, suspension alignment, and vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently through electrical systems analysis and mechanical inspection techniques.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, construction machinery servicing, and heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to support internal teams or external clients effectively.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely.
