Reports to: Production Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Has a thorough understanding of our company’s products, operations and procedures. Plays a leadership role in providing mentorship and technical assistance and training to less experienced employees.
- Performs highly effective communication with co-workers and internal customers; and performs assignments in a timely and efficient manner while meeting customer quality expectations.
- Perform basic job functions of machining operations while performing set ups, first piece and production on CNC Swiss.
- Troubleshoot production problems relating to equipment, tooling and processes.
- Help develop and implement standard work, set up reduction and efficiency improvement efforts to meet department goals.
- Facilitate shift start up and departmental meetings, communicating any arising concerns, expectations, or goals.
- Train and educate operators. Assist with the assessment, implementation, and documentation of associate and departmental development plans and competency progress plans.
- Be the subject matter expert in the technical aspects of set up/machining.
- Perform, train and assist in preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling.
- Keeps the supervisor aware in a timely manner of any issues needing the supervisor’s involvement.
- Accurately complete records, forms and records in maintenance management systems.
- Identifies and corrects machining problems relative to tools and tool holders, collets and chucks.
- Ability to identify and rectify minor mechanical equipment malfunctions.
- Uses change management system.
- Serves in a leadership role in performing certain duties of supervision during the supervisor’s absence; such as assigning work, making quality decisions in conjunction with QA and communicating with other shift supervisors.
- Help drive teamwork and collaboration between departments and shifts. Leads by example.
- Maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required.
- Observe good housekeeping and safety habits.
Requirements:
- High school education is required.
- Has at least 8 years of prior CNC Swiss Setup Experience.
- Independently display prioritization skills.
- Understand and anticipate the internal customers’ needs and initiate action to meet them.
- Demonstrated ability to impact cost, quality and service levels.
- Has proficient machining, communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Has an advanced understanding of quality systems and consistently follows quality processes.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop others while making positive impact on quality and plant metrics.
- Delivers accurate and reliable information as needed.
- Self-motivated and able to learn at a fast pace. Open to taking on new challenges.

Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
