Job Summary
The Barn Store is a family-owned construction company based in Gallatin, Tennessee, specializing in turnkey barns, garages, workshops, barndominiums, residential projects, warehouses, and other custom builds.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in residential construction, production homebuilding, and/or spec homebuilding to oversee projects from pre-construction through completion.
This isn't an entry-level project management position. We’re looking for someone who understands residential construction, knows how to manage multiple projects at different stages, and can confidently coordinate subcontractors, schedules, materials, inspections, customers, and jobsite expectations.
What You’ll Do
- Manage multiple residential and post-frame construction projects from start to finish
- Develop and maintain construction schedules
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal crews
- Oversee site preparation, concrete, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, interior work, and other phases of construction
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, materials, and workmanship
- Conduct regular jobsite visits and ensure projects are progressing as expected
- Coordinate inspections and help ensure work meets plans, specifications, and applicable building requirements
- Identify scheduling or construction issues early and work quickly to resolve them
- Communicate clearly with customers throughout the construction process
- Maintain organized project documentation and provide regular progress updates
- Ensure completed projects meet The Barn Store’s standards before turnover
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in production homebuilding, spec homebuilding, or residential construction management strongly preferred
- Experience managing residential construction projects from groundbreaking through completion
- Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing and trades
- Ability to manage several active projects simultaneously
- Experience scheduling and managing subcontractors
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable communicating directly with homeowners and resolving concerns professionally
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to jobsites throughout our Middle Tennessee service area
