Overview:
The Shipping and Receiving Packer Level I is the second level in the Shipping and Receiving Career Track. As a Level I you will perform basic packaging and shipping functions with minimum supervision.
Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Prepare items to be shipped.
- Perform part wrapping and protection to prevent damage during shipping.
- Handle materials according to customer and QMS requirements.
- Pack, seal, or label to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools and/or power tools.
- Deliver or route materials to departments using hand trucks or sorting bins.
- Inspect shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment.
- Re-stock shelves in the shipping department as needed.
- Document completion of work/operations in M2M.
- Maintain inventory of parts.
- Record inventory transactions in M2M.
- Complete required training.
- Perform other jobs or functions assigned by manager/supervisor.
Qualifications: Minimum Preferred Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- (2) years of consistent working experience. Related experience a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- Trunk Strength- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
- Extent Flexibility- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- Stamina- The ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
- Perceptual Speed — The ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns. The things to be compared may be presented at the same time or one after the other. This ability also includes comparing a presented object with a remembered object.
- Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Ability to continuously lift 50+ lbs. in an 8-hour shift and higher with assistance.
- Written Comprehension — The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
