We are seeking a skilled Line Cook with saute experience to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a passion for creating delicious dishes. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet the needs of our customers.
Job Description:
Plans, preps, sets up and provides quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications. Maintains organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
Major Duties:
- Meets with Executive Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to the job performance.
- Communicates to the Executive Chef any concerns regarding food, price, production process, delivery problems, shortages, and equipment problems or personnel issues.
- Sets up workstation with required tools, equipment, and supplies according to standards.
- Inspects the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Notifies the Executive Chef of expected shortages; adds products to order list.
- Maintains standards of quality, cost, eye appeal, and flavor of foods.
- Reports unsafe conditions as soon as they are observed.
- Prepares and presents food in accordance with established portions and presentation standards.
- Asks questions to ensure understanding of all assignments.
- Covers dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are reusable.
- Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
- Participates in monthly safety training meetings.
- Assists with other duties as assigned by Executive Chef.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to speak effectively before guests or employees of the Club.
- Required to complete detailed tasks with precision within specific timelines.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds frequently, up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
- Some bending, reaching, stooping, and crawling required.
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to taste and smell.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
