Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, highlighting daily specials and beverage options.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently, handling cash handling and sales transactions with accuracy.
- Maintain knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe dining environment.
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting stations, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth service flow.
- Provide excellent guest relations by addressing questions about menu items, accommodating special requests, and ensuring overall satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, particularly in fine dining or high-volume settings.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order processing and sales management.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and the ability to connect with diverse guests.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling beverages like wine, spirits, cocktails, and promoting menu items confidently.
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing bills efficiently.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits experience, cocktail preparation techniques, and beverage service best practices.
- Experience with food preparation support roles such as bussing or host/hostess duties is a plus.
