Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trailer Shop Foreman to lead our trailer repair and maintenance operations. Duties
- Supervise daily shop operations, ensuring timely completion of trailer repairs, fabrication, and maintenance tasks
- Lead and mentor a team of technicians, fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and hands-on inspection techniques
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery
- Coordinate parts procurement, inventory management, and ensure the proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized machinery
- Perform quality control checks on completed repairs to meet safety standards and customer expectations
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and safety documentation in compliance with company policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dealership or heavy equipment repair with strong mechanical knowledge
- Skilled in fabrication, welding (including arc welding), hydraulics, suspension systems, transmissions, brakes, air brake systems, HVAC systems, and diesel engine repair
- Familiarity with schematics reading for electrical systems and troubleshooting complex machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance including tire service and alignment procedures
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely and efficiently
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervisory or foreman experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and customers effectively
- Ability to lift heavy components safely while maintaining a focus on safety protocols
- Knowledge of industrial equipment repair standards and best practices in vehicle assembly and maintenance
