Nurse/LVN Position
Job description
As a clinical RN/LVN you will be required to assist healthcare professionals in patient assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment, working closely with patients who are sick or injured.
Responsibilities
- Provides clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
- Triage pediatric patients and obtain vital signs, record medical history & confirm purpose of visit
- Assist during medical examinations and/or procedures
- Administer medications as directed by the physician
- Perform laboratory work, injections, and flu vaccines
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Take blood samples and specimens and perform routine lab tests, including COVID-19
- Remove stitches
- Arrange for hospital transfers and complete associated documentation
- Comply with legal regulations to maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment for staff and patients
- Perform some administrative duties, for example arranging lab work and prescriptions or filing patient records
- Assist with x-rays and EKG's
- Practice common safety hazards and precautions
- Maintain medical records
- Telephone triage
- Additional comparable duties may be required that are within the employee's capacity
Requirements
- Completion of a nationally recognized accredited school of Registered Nursing or Licensed Professional Nurse licensure
- Current and unencumbered Texas RN License or Medical Assistant Certification
- Must have at least one year of prior experience in a pediatric office, urgent care or emergency room setting
- Must have high school diploma, bachelor degree, or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems
- Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant scope of practice
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Will be exposed to multiple differed communicable diseases including COVID during each shift. Proper PPE will be provided.
- Must be willing to float between all locations if necessary
Pay: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour
