Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and clinically skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to oversee the daily operations of our accredited outpatient surgical center while serving as the primary Certified Surgical Technologist. This unique leadership role blends hands-on patient care with operational management, regulatory compliance, inventory oversight, credentialing, and quality improvement.

Schedule
- Surgery days are Mondays and Wednesdays.
- No Fridays, weekends, or holiday shifts.
- Typical work schedule is Monday through Thursday, with administrative and operating room responsibilities on non-surgery days as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Function as the primary scrub technologist for a variety of surgical procedures including reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
- Anticipate surgeon needs and prepare instrumentation, implants, and specialty equipment.
- Assist with room turnover and preparation between procedures.
- Participate in patient positioning, counts, specimen handling, and surgical documentation.
- Assist with sterilization and instrument processing as needed.
- Assist with rooming and chaperoning patients
- Assist with minor procedures
Operating Room Management
- Manage the daily operations of a single operating room
- Coordinate surgical workflow to maximize efficiency and patient safety.
- Maintain operating room readiness and equipment functionality.
- Develop and update preference cards and surgical workflows.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and equipment servicing.
Inventory & Supply Chain
- Manage inventory levels for surgical instruments, implants, medications, and disposable supplies.
- Order, receive, and reconcile medical supplies.
- Evaluate vendors and negotiate purchasing when appropriate.
- Monitor product expiration dates and maintain regulatory compliance.
Regulatory & Accreditation
- Lead ongoing compliance with Quad A accreditation standards.
- Maintain policies, procedures, logs, and documentation required for accreditation.
- Coordinate quality improvement initiatives.
- Prepare for accreditation surveys and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection prevention, and applicable state regulations.
Credentialing & Administrative Duties
- Coordinate credentialing and privileging for physicians and allied health professionals.
- Maintain provider licensure, certifications, and continuing education records.
- Assist with scheduling, documentation, and administrative projects.
- Communicate with hospitals, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Current BLS Certification
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and infection prevention
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent computer skills
- Adhere to the practice's dress code and maintain a polished, professional appearance at all times

- Plastic surgery experience preferred
