Position Summary
Manufacturing Technologies Inc. (MTI) is seeking experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technicians to support a major automotive manufacturing program in the Chicago area.
Technicians will diagnose, troubleshoot, and verify repairs on brand-new OEM production vehicles using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software. This position requires strong electrical, electronic, mechanical, and vehicle diagnostic skills in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues on new production vehicles.
- Perform On-Board Diagnostics (OBD-II) testing and troubleshooting.
- Read, analyze, and resolve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Utilize OEM scan tools and diagnostic software.
- Troubleshoot drivability, powertrain, body, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose CAN Bus communication and electrical faults.
- Verify repairs and ensure vehicles meet OEM quality standards.
- Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
- Meet production and quality expectations while following all safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Automotive diagnostic experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OBD-II systems and vehicle diagnostics.
- Experience using OEM scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and electronic vehicle systems.
- Experience reading wiring diagrams and service information.
- CAN Bus diagnostic experience preferred.
- Ford, GM, Stellantis, dealership, manufacturing, proving ground, or vehicle validation experience preferred.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
