Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and specialty care environments. Your expertise will support comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes while utilizing advanced clinical skills and evidence-based practices.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in accordance with clinical guidelines and patient preferences.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following proper protocols and safety standards.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, spinal taps, catheterizations, and dermal filler injections.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, gastroenterology, and infectious disease care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and support remote patient management.
- Assist in clinical research initiatives to advance medical knowledge and improve treatment strategies.
- Educate patients on health coaching topics including nutrition, medication adherence, disease prevention, and post-discharge care planning.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and hospice & palliative medicine services.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Critical care experience preferred; including ICU or Level I Trauma Center exposure highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, catheter care, and sterile processing techniques.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for documentation accuracy.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (pediatric care), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), assisted living residents or nursing home patients.
- Skills in triage assessment for urgent care or emergency room scenarios; familiarity with hospital medicine or post-acute care environments is advantageous.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing or medical imaging; experience with sonography or laboratory specimen processing is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and safety compliance.
- Additional qualifications include experience in behavioral health management, pain management techniques (including acute pain), occupational health protocols (including Workers' compensation law), hospice & palliative medicine principles, and telehealth experience.
