- 60 to 70% domestic travel

Job Summary:
Drives the execution of medical affairs plans associated with AltaThera products in the U.S. The MSL is responsible for developing and enhancing professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Responsibilities also include compliantly collaborating across sales, marketing, and clinical research. The MSL acts to ensure that scientifically accurate and fair balanced data is disseminated and that key field insights are communicated to AltaThera.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare providers within the therapeutic area.
- Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with US Medical Affairs plans.
- Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues and insights from KOLs to appropriate departments.
- Participate in medical education for healthcare professionals (HCPs) through on-site presentations at healthcare institutions, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, or regional meetings.
- Provide scientific support for additional activities such as medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Requires extensive understanding of the company's products, commercialization strategy, the competition, and the pharmaceutical industry in general.
- Maintains a current awareness of new drug developments in targeted therapeutic areas
- Strong scientific background and solid understanding of the clinical development processes and investigator-initiated studies.
- Solid statistical knowledge with a demonstrated ability to interpret study findings and communicate appropriately.
- Good knowledge of OPDP promotional regulations and pharmaceutical promotion standards.
- Understanding of US pharmaceutical safety reporting and surveillance.
- Ability to interpret scientific data.
- Skilled in managing and influencing people.
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in working with the Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Demonstrated experience working with secondary data sources.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (written information and presentations) with internal and external parties.
- Familiarity with Biostatistics and clinical study operations and execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree in medical/biosciences (e.g. M.D., PhD, PharmD, DNP) or extensive related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MSL or comparable industry or clinical role is required.
- 2+ years of cardiology experience is required
- Pediatric experience preferred
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Travel Requirements:
Travel 60 to 70% (domestic)
Pay: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
