Pay Rate: $22-$32/hourly depending on experience
Full-Time: Monday – Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM
At Maynard Incorporated, we support critical manufacturing and aerospace programs through precision, quality, and technical expertise. Our Wichita operation is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to support customer quoting, manufacturing planning, and cost analysis activities in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
This position is ideal for someone with strong manufacturing knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze technical requirements to develop accurate and competitive manufacturing estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, 3D models, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation to develop accurate estimates.
- Create detailed manufacturing cost estimates that support customer RFQs and production requirements.
- Calculate labor, material, tooling, and outside processing costs associated with manufacturing plans.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations for special processing, chemical processing, hardware, and subcontracted services.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Engineering, Planning, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Operations to support estimate development.
- Evaluate and document potential risks related to capacity, delivery schedules, materials, outside processing, and manufacturing capability.
- Communicate with customers regarding RFQ requirements, technical clarifications, and quote feedback.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating processes, activity profiles, and training programs.
- Assist with training coordination and maintaining training documentation as needed.
- Participate in employee evaluations and provide input regarding performance and development opportunities.
- Maintain organized and accurate estimating records and supporting documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in manufacturing estimating, production planning, or related aerospace manufacturing functions.
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing standards, processes, and quality requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, work instructions, and BOMs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and documentation skills.
- Professional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
Preferred Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience performing similar estimating or manufacturing support functions.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Prior aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced office and manufacturing support environment.
- Frequent computer workstation use and repetitive motion activities.
- Ability to walk throughout manufacturing facilities, including stairs and extended distances as needed.
