The University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY, is looking for molecular or hematopathologist with interest in hematopoietic neoplasms due to continued growth of its NCI designated cancer center.
The Department as a whole performs close to 12 million tests annually with more than 1,100 staff and over 70 faculty. The molecular division processes more than 8,000 NGS orders annually while the flow cytometry lab produces approximately 12,500 billable tests each month.
The Department has a robust infrastructure for supporting clinical and translational research, including financial, administrative and statistical support, dedicated academic time and a strong mentoring program.
The Department hosts learners across the continuum, including: an AP/CP pathology residency training program and 11 fellowship positions; one of URMC’s largest PhD training program; a NACCLS-accredited clinical medical technologist training program; training in non-licensed roles including phlebotomy and clinical support technology, and an exploratory program for high school students.
The Medical Center and its NCI-designated Wilmot Cancer Institute are a tertiary referral center for organ transplant (kidney, liver, heart); boasts a Level 1 trauma & burn center; comprehensive neuromedicine; complex cardiology in addition to cancer. Candidates must have completed medical school having an MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent as well as Board eligibility/certification in a pathology subspecialty.

The referenced pay range ($260,000-$300,000) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
