Position Overview
This position serves as the primary clinical point of contact for patients with active treatment plans and post-operative care needs.
You will work directly with our surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and administrative teams to ensure every patient receives outstanding clinical support throughout their treatment journey.
This is much more than answering phones—you are the patient's clinical advocate.
The average daily call volume is approximately 30 inbound patient calls, allowing time for meaningful patient interactions and completion of administrative responsibilities.
What You'll DoPatient Care
- Answer inbound clinical phone calls from patients regarding treatment plans
- Educate patients regarding physician instructions and treatment recommendations
- Triage patient concerns and communicate with providers when clinical guidance is needed
- Collaborate closely with DPM surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
- Ensure patients understand medications, wound care, activity restrictions, and post-operative instructions
- Escalate urgent concerns appropriately
- Serve as a patient advocate to help resolve concerns quickly and compassionately
Post-Operative Care
- Conduct scheduled post-operative follow-up calls
- Monitor patient recovery
- Identify potential complications early
- Coordinate additional appointments when necessary
- Ensure patients receive an exceptional surgical experience
Clinical Documentation
- Document all patient interactions accurately within the electronic medical record
- Maintain timely and complete chart documentation
- Assist providers with documentation as assigned
Administrative Responsibilities
- Insurance verification
- Prior authorizations
- Medication refill coordination
- Clinical messaging
- Routing patient requests
- Coordination with billing, scheduling, and clinic staff
- Additional administrative duties as assigned
Team Collaboration
- Work alongside providers across multiple clinic locations
- Participate in daily communication with the clinical team
- Cross-train to provide backup support for centralized scheduling when needed
- Maintain excellent communication with providers and leadership throughout the day
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time
- No evenings
- No weekends
- No holidays
- No call responsibilities
- Full-time remote
Compensation
- RN/BSN $24 - $30.00/hr based on experience
- LPN $ 20 - $24.00/hr based on experience
- Medical Assistant $14.00 - $22.00/hr based on experience
QualificationsRequired
- Current U.S. RN, LPN/LVN, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) license/certification
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
- Excellent telephone communication skills
- Strong multitasking abilities
- Exceptional written documentation skills
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to learn multiple software systems
- High-speed reliable internet connection
- Private, distraction-free home office
- Ability to remain actively engaged throughout the scheduled workday
Preferred
- Surgical clinic experience
- Orthopedic or podiatry experience
- Telephone triage experience
- Prior authorization experience

This is a fully remote position.
Employees are expected to provide and maintain:

Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Clinical Team Lead, who reports to the Practice Manager.
You will work closely with surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, schedulers, and administrative staff throughout the organization.
