POSITION SUMMARY
The GPS Technician will be responsible for the operation of map and route tracking GPS equipment and operating the GPS rover. Duties will include:
- Calibration and maintenance of the specialized sensor system;
- Calibrate machines outfitted with GPS equipment
- Meet with owner representatives to meet project specifications (pre-construction, during construction, & post construction)
- Troubleshoot problems, work with shop manager to order necessary equipment repairs
- Attend training workshops to gain state certification
- Attend manufacturers workshop to gain certification
- Work in a quality control role between GPS projects
- Report project results on a daily basis to the owner and project manager
- Work both in a office and outdoors setting
- Work hours up to 70 hours per week
- Work 75 % of all Saturdays
- Ability to operate heavy equipment while trouble shooting
- Competent in Math & Technology
- Surveying Experience
