Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Medical Assistant Instructor to join our educational team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive clinical training programs for aspiring medical assistants. Duties
- Design and implement engaging clinical training curricula aligned with current healthcare practices and standards
- Deliver instruction in various clinical skills including patient care, medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, radiology, and specialized areas such as anesthesiology, psychiatry, oncology, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), internal medicine, neurology, critical care, and public health
- Supervise students during clinical practice sessions in laboratory settings, hospital environments, clinics, and research settings to ensure safe and effective skill acquisition
- Evaluate student performance through assessments, practical exams, documentation review, and feedback sessions to promote continuous improvement
- Incorporate learning technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), Blackboard, and online instruction platforms to enhance educational delivery
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development projects and contribute to research initiatives related to medical education or clinical research
- Support students from diverse cultural backgrounds by creating inclusive learning environments that foster engagement and understanding
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, clinical hours, and instructional activities in compliance with institutional policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in clinical instruction within healthcare or medical education settings
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, diagnostic radiology, anesthesiology, psychiatry, oncology, pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, internal medicine, neurology, critical care medicine, nursing practices, laboratory procedures, and public health principles
- Supervising experience in clinical or educational environments preferred
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Blackboard or similar online learning platforms
- Experience with research activities including clinical trials, securing research funding, publishing peer-reviewed papers or medical research articles is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to develop curricula and deliver effective online instruction for adult learners
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
- Prior university or higher education teaching experience highly desirable
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology or animal physiology is advantageous but not required
- Strong organizational skills for documentation review and maintaining detailed records of instructional activities
- Background in hospital or clinic settings with acute care experience preferred
