R&D Formulation Chemist
Preferred:
3+ years experience in formulation chemistry
Previous experience in GMP cosmetic and OTC facility
Previous experience with testing of physicals (pH, viscosity, specific gravity, % solids, foam height)
Previous process scalability experience
Requirements:
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office systems
Good attention to detail
Ability to accurately document tasks as performed
Organized with the ability to multi-task
Previous formulation experience with cosmetics and/or OTC products
Experience in lab environment
Ability to communicate effectively both within the organization and with suppliers and/or customers
Responsibilities:
Accurately weigh and compound batches at lab scale
Testing of lab batch bulk for organoleptic characteristics
Calibrate and maintain all lab equipment for cleanliness and functionality
Perform capacity checks
Catalogue incoming raw materials
Transfer development technology from client to lab scale to commercialization
Develop new cosmetic and OTC products from lab scale to commercialization
Assist in qualification of new raw materials, including lab work and documentation
R&D project management
Generate documentation for scalability from lab to commercialization
Artwork review
Any additional task as requested
