Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC machining, programming languages, and mechanical blueprint interpretation will drive efficiency and quality in our production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining tools and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Develop and write CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, including G-code and M-code programming for various CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Set up CNC machines, including tool selection, calibration, and machine alignment, ensuring optimal operation for each job.
- Operate CNC machinery such as Fanuc-controlled lathes and mills, manual machining tools, grinders, and measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Perform precision measurements during manufacturing to verify part dimensions against specifications using measurement tools and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Conduct machine troubleshooting, adjustments, and quality inspections to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with design engineers using SolidWorks and CAD software to review designs and suggest manufacturability improvements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, inspections, and production logs to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience in CNC programming for metal machining operations on CNC lathe and milling machines.
- Strong knowledge of Mazatrol controls as well as Fanuc or other common CNC control systems.
- Hands-on experience with CAM programming software for creating efficient toolpaths.
- Familiarity with manual machining techniques including the use of hand tools, grinders, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, power tools, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately and apply GD&T principles during setup and inspection processes.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling selection, machine setup, fixture design, and tooling wear management.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, feeds & speeds adjustments.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste in machining processes.
Join us if you’re passionate about precision manufacturing! We value proactive problem-solvers who thrive on technical challenges and are eager to contribute their expertise in a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence in metal machining technology.
