JOB SUMMARY
Provide security for the Port of Alaska, protecting personnel, assets, and facilities from theft, vandalism, and safety incidents.
- Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of assigned areas
- Perform access control and site security enforcement
- Respond to incidents following established procedures
Schedule: Rotational – 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Location: Anchorage, AK
Housing/Transport: Not provided – must reside locally
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum of 1 year of experience (Law Enforcement, Military Police, or Security)
- TWIC card (or ability to obtain)
- Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Armed Security Guard License (State of Alaska) (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to complete company-facilitated firearms training program
- Valid Alaska driver’s license (clean driving record required)
- Reliable smartphone for scheduling and communication
- Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical evaluation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with USCG Marine Safety Office (TCA inspections)
- Experience with transportation security drills/exercises
- Experience at MTSA or TSA-regulated facilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Protect personnel, property, and assets from security threats
- Control access to restricted areas and verify credentials
- Patrol site and respond to alarms, outages, or suspicious activity
- Enforce policies and take appropriate action, including detention if necessary
- Operate firearms in compliance with certification standards
- Conduct searches of people, vehicles, vessels, and facilities
- Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and assist with evacuations
- Write clear incident reports and document investigations
- Communicate effectively and de-escalate conflicts
- Assist law enforcement and emergency responders as needed
- Operate vehicle in various conditions and environments
