Overview
We are a growing, remote law firm in Las Vegas, NV. We focus on Family and Criminal defense cases in the Clark County area. We are in search of a skilled and motivated Paralegal to join our team and support our Family Law Attorney! We view each other like family and your contributions will be recognized, appreciated and rewarded. We are looking to grow our family. Local a plus but the position is remote. NV experienced applicants only.
Paralegals are prohibited by the ABA’s rules of Professional Conduct and State Bar Association rules from practicing law. All work done will be in support of and under direct supervision of an attorney. You must remain mindful and careful not to inadvertently slip into the unlawful practice of law. This includes answering client questions about what will happen in their case or recommending that a client undertake a certain course of action during their case.
Responsibilities
- Organizing and maintaining files
- Docketing (scheduling) events
- Keep track of key dates, communicating with the right people, to avoid missed deadlines
- Filling out and assisting clients with filling out legal forms
- Drafting letters and court documents for attorney review
- Writing reports and legal documents for attorney review
- Thorough legal research into new and novel issues, verifying case law, and reviewing legislation
- Preparing discovery and responses to discovery demands
- Meeting with clients to review discovery responses
- Communicating with clients with updates and gathering information
- Helping attorneys prepare cases for hearings
- Assisting lawyers in the court room
- Back up for Legal Assistant, including but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling, updating files and checking e-filing
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
Completion of degree or certification desired. 2-5 years experience working in family law preferred. Will consider combination of education and experience.

Pay based on experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
