Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our construction team. In this role, you will lead the estimation process for various construction projects, ensuring accurate cost projections and efficient project execution. You will manage project budgets from initial estimates through completion, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, review construction drawings, and oversee project timelines. Your expertise will drive successful project delivery while maintaining cost control and quality standards. Duties
- Prepare detailed construction estimates by reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Interpret construction drawings to accurately determine material requirements, labor needs, and costs.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Manage project budgets by estimating costs, tracking expenses, and implementing cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Must have good communication skills and answer phone calls converting leads into sales.
- Oversee the review of construction documents to ensure compliance with project scope, specifications, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and site teams to develop realistic schedules, monitor progress, and adjust estimates as needed.
- Utilize construction management software such as Xactimate for accurate cost estimation and project documentation.
- Lead negotiations on contracts, change orders, and scope adjustments to optimize project profitability.
- Monitor the progress of projects on-site through regular visits, ensuring adherence to plans and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and successful project delivery.
Skills
- Must be familiar with the construction trade
- Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Experience with building estimates and cost analysis.
- Demonstrated ability managing projects as a construction estimator with a focus on budget accuracy and timeline adherence.
- Expertise in reviewing construction drawings for material requirements, scope clarification, and technical accuracy.
- Solid understanding of construction estimating principles including cost management, cost control, and budget forecasting.
- Construction site experience coupled with knowledge of safety standards and on-the-ground operations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately to inform estimates and project planning.
- Strong background in construction management including contracts, scheduling, resource allocation, and client communication.
