DEPENDABLE BREAKFAST ATTENDANT to work at the hotel and provide guests an enjoyable breakfast experience every morning. Setting up and breaking down each day’s breakfast buffet, serving hot and cold items, refilling beverage containers, maintaining the safety and appearance of the buffet area, replenishing cups, plates, utensils, condiments, and sugar caddies; cleaning spills and mopping floor; attending to buffet, clearing plates from tables, restocking coffee/juice, and performing additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have strong backgrounds in kitchen operations and food preparation, with a commitment to delivering high-quality buffet breakfasts in a fast-paced hotel environment. These roles are essential in ensuring that our guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience through delicious food and excellent service.
- HOURS will VARY: 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM for up to five (5) mornings a week. If you do not have reliable regular transportation, please, do not apply for these positions. The breakfast attendant must be on the clock at 5:00 AM.
- One Part-time position for someone who wants/needs to share their passion of cooking with others and get paid at the same time!

BASIC Breakfast Buffet Menu: Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Patties, Biscuits, Gravy or Grits.
Apart from the abilities to perform the above-mentioned job description, the attendant must possess strong communication skills to keep the customers informed about breakfast offerings. They should be dependable, courteous, efficient and friendly; the breakfast attendant should have multitasking capacity and be prepared to stand for long periods. This is not serving table to table. The breakfast attendant will cook and keep the small buffet of food refilled. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the breakfast area to create a pleasant dining experience for guests.
The amount of food to be cooked will vary often as this being a hotel the guests occupancy changes. Know that US-231 keeps the guests coming while they are traveling. Troy University has multiple sporting events and the City of TROY has multiple business events.
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold breakfast items, catering to the Best Western Quality Assurance standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards while handling and storing food items.
- Manage inventory levels and restock breakfast supplies to meet guests’ demands. Some heavy lifting (25lbs) is involved.
- Engage with guests to provide personalized service and address any requests promptly.
- Execute cleaning duties for all dining areas, ensuring a hygienic environment. Keep the kitchen area organized, clean, and sanitized throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of breakfast items and maintain quality service.
- Multitasking capacity and be prepared to stand for long periods.
- Serving for large traveling crowds such as sporting teams, families, working crews, business class travelers, etc.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
