As a Liquor Store Manager, you are the driving force behind your store's success—leading your team with integrity, ensuring compliance with all alcohol regulations, and delivering an exceptional shopping experience for every customer. Your leadership will cultivate a positive workplace culture while maximizing sales, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
You will oversee all daily, weekly, and long-term operations of the store. From managing inventory, financial reporting, and vendor relationships to coaching employees and maintaining regulatory compliance, this role requires an organized, dependable, and customer-focused leader. You will work closely with district leadership to achieve sales goals, maintain operational excellence, and ensure your team has the training and support needed to succeed.

Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure products are properly stocked and organized.

Ensure store cleanliness both inside and outside the facility.

Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary.

Monitor store appearance to ensure it meets company standards.

Order inventory based on sales trends, seasonal demand, and promotional opportunities.

Monitor inventory levels to minimize out-of-stock items while controlling excess inventory.

Receive deliveries, verify invoices, and accurately enter inventory into company systems.

Perform regular inventory counts and assist with full inventory audits.

Build and maintain positive relationships with distributors and vendors.

Coordinate product displays and promotional opportunities with supplier representatives.

Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol laws and regulations.

Verify that all employees consistently follow age verification procedures for alcohol sales.

Maintain required permits, licenses, and compliance documentation.

Conduct regular compliance training with team members.

Minimize shrink through effective inventory controls and loss prevention practices.

Investigate inventory discrepancies and report concerns to company leadership.

Create a welcoming shopping environment focused on knowledgeable and friendly service.

Assist customers with product recommendations, food pairings, and special orders.

Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.

Train employees on product knowledge, including wine, spirits, beer, and emerging beverage categories.

Support community events, tastings (where legally permitted), and promotional activities.

Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and daily financial reconciliations.

Prepare daily deposits and complete all required financial documentation.

Monitor store sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.

Manage labor expenses while maintaining excellent customer service.

Review sales reports and implement strategies to achieve company sales goals.

Complete required reports including inventory, sales, labor, and compliance documentation.

Ensure all required licenses, certifications, and store records remain current.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Must be eligible to legally sell alcoholic beverages in accordance with state and local laws.

Must be able to pass a background check.

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum 2–3 years of retail management experience, preferably in liquor, grocery, convenience, or specialty retail.

Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate employees.
