Duties
- Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety protocols
- Serve meals to residents or patients with friendly customer service, ensuring their dietary needs are met
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through regular sanitation, cleaning, and bussing duties
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, stocking serving stations, and assisting with inventory management
- Help with meal setup and presentation to enhance the dining experience for residents or clients
- Follow all food safety regulations and sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for everyone
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food production, preparation, serving, and sanitation practices
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy meal times
- Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents or patients
- Ability to follow detailed instructions related to food handling and safety procedures
- Experience in culinary activities such as cooking or meal preparation is advantageous
- Basic understanding of dietetics principles and dietary requirements for different populations
