Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Industrial Custodian to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized industrial environment. Your proactive approach will ensure our facilities remain pristine and operationally efficient, supporting our commitment to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain production areas where panels, insulation, and refrigeration components are manufactured and assembled
- Sweep, mop, and scrub floors to remove dust, metal shavings, foam debris, and other industrial waste
- Dispose of scrap materials (metal, wood, insulation, packaging) following company and safety guidelines
- Clean around machinery such as panel cutters, presses, and assembly stations (without interfering with operations)
- Maintain cleanliness in offices, restrooms, break rooms, and locker areas
- Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers)
- Assist with cleaning inside finished walk-in units prior to shipment when needed
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and properly use PPE (gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
- Identify and report spills, leaks, or safety hazards (including refrigerant-related concerns if observed)
- Support recycling efforts and proper disposal of materials
- Maintain cleaning schedules and logs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing cleaning preferred
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety standards (OSHA familiarity is a plus)
- Forklift experience is a plus (not required)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and noisy environments
- Comfortable working around machinery and industrial materials
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility producing walk-in coolers and freezers
- Exposure to dust, insulation particles, metal debris, and temperature variations
- Requires use of PPE at all times on the production floor
- May require flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends
